ANDRE 3000 born Andre Lauren Benjamin on May 27, 1975 in Atlanta, Georgia. He is half of the successful hip hop duo OutKast, an actor and is also the creator of Cartoon Network's Class of 3000. André, an only child, raised by a single mother remains one of the few true artists in the industry. Andre 3000 and his other half Big Boi are the true sound and voice of the south. | | 
HOW PUNK WAS NY PUNK Punk, or what became punk rock in Britain, was a product of American sources, with roots varying from Bill Haley and his Comets' first chords of rock music to the self-centered poetry of the beat generation's best authors. These cultural artifacts influenced American punk, which in turn influenced Britain's. Punk's impact on America was isolated, but its impact on Britain exemplified rock music's pattern of cultural mimicry. British punk was a recreation of America's best offerings modified to suit British tastes. Punk business man, Malcolm McLaren sensed America's influence on British punk. SPYING TO SHUSH The news on the NYPD illegally spying on citizens is still top in the headlines. Only this time, Clips and Kisses has published a document from the The NYPD's Republican National Convention documents, which, according to Allhiphop and various other sources, claim that many of these documents contain text indicating that LL Cool J, Diddy, Alicia Keys, Jay-Z, and others were placed under surveillance months before the 2004 Republican National Convention made its way to New York City. These same artists were part of Russell Simmons' Hip-Hop Summit Action Network back in August of '04 where they took part in raising awareness in different aspects of politics and encouraging of voter registration. | | |
